Spark plugs

Hi what plugs are better to use in my 99 2.5 200 carb merc motor? Buhw, or bu8h? Is there any difference?
Cheers

The BUHW's are fine for a carbed engine.. I don't use the BUHW's cause I don't build nothing but EFI's but I think the 8 is a conventional hooked gap plug... I use the NGK BR8HS gapped at .035" for 100% of the Pro Max motors...( which are resistor )

Having a 2.4efi, always wondered what can be gained (or lossed) by changing spark plugs.

If your ECU is analog the std. plug is fine IF you have converted to a digital ECU by all means go to the "R" ( resistor ) type plugs....

Sean, I use BUZHW-2 in my 200.
No gaps to mess with in these feckers.

The BUZHW is a good plug for Digital ECU boxes where a resistor is needed and a MUST to keep down RF frequencies at a minimum but a HUGH over kill on any carbed motor as far as price... You can buy a BUHW in the states for $1.00 each and the BUZHW is OVER $10.00 ea. and $15.00 each at a dealership...The hooked gap plug is used by 99.999% of all the Drag race folks in the states because of the ease of "reading" the fuel mixture on hooked gap verses the surface gap, they tend to "puddle" to bad for my liking. We install a set of Iridium hooked gap in our race engines at the begining of season and forget em.....
