sportmaster oil leak

Hi guys, I noticed gear oil on the ground under the prop, removed prop and found oil passing by outer oil seal, is it just a case of changing this seal or are there internal oil seals that will need changing?. Appreciate any help----Rod

Oil leak

There's two seals in the bearing carrier which will need replacing,it will need the box removed and the bearing carrier removed from the box so not a DIY job really. Not a complete strip down but not far off so worth checking the rest whilst apart.

Is the shaft badly corroded? You can do it without stripping the box, getting old ones out is the hard part, get a screw through the flange and try pull then out, will make a mess of them getting them out but...

If the shaft is bad, get a speedy sleeve for it.

Thanks very much for your replies, the shaft looks ok where the outer seal sits so I hope its just a case of replacing these seals then, thanks again-- Rod

I'd change all the seals & while your at it, look at the impeller.
