Steering Wheel Removal - Stuck!!

I am trying to remove the 13 year old steering wheel to replace with a nice new momo one.... it just wont budge..... the small holes at the front are worn out and we have removed the main nut in the middle and tried to shock it with a hammer etc but all no luck!! so far used 1 can of wd40!!

is there such a thing as a wheel puller??

plse help as the old wooden wheel doesnt match the nice new carbon fiber dash!!

also (i will post on wanted) i need to get the wheel hub/bezel that attaches to the new steering wheel??

thks

When they are stuck like that there is only one thing thats gets them of and thats a wheel/bearing puller. Most the time the old hub will crack but you want to install a new one so it's ok

You can also try to just split it with a hacksaw.Just always try and support the helm it's self so that you dont put to much strain on the inner parts

Good luck it's a pest to remove.

I have two what size required, Small & Medium. Dont think it would be the small would be a medium or large. Dont forget you can appy heat to the hub which will expand it & hopefully "unstick" the thing

It's a bit ungainly, but you need to sit on the dash facing the stern, get your legs behind the wheel and try to push it off the shaft, whilst whacking said shaft with a fecking great hammer and punch!

I sometimes give demo's at weekends, Sundays normally.

I may well have a momo hub, black or white?

The important thing is to just remove enough skin on the two most prominent knuckles so they just bleed, acting as a reminder every time you put your hand in a pocket for the next week
