Swanky huh?
This looked interesting for all you I/O wallahs. Well engineered a lot of thought went into it by the look of things, oh and a pile of cash !! Interesting to see if the orientation is reliable.

A marine engineer mate of mine was banging on about that after the Southampton Boat Show, he was really impressed with it, surely it requires a different approach to hull/transom design though?

Yep. No [easy] way to retrofit.
On the plus side:
They're more efficient than comparable inboards
The common failure points for outdrives have been engineered out
Motor Boat & Yachting have had articles on them in the last few months....very impressed.

Maybe we need to keep an eye on the Cookee build thread to keep an eye on the transom angle, just to see if it changes

You mean when he's underway? Na, I'm sure it won't be THAT flimsy. I spose you never know though eh.

I remember talking to a guy on this stand a few years ago and i have to say it was rediculous.
I was looking to repower a 28 formula and saw this and it looked the part.
When i asked the rep some questions he could not give me any answers at all!
I did almost laugh in his face when he said it could not repower anything unless you cut out or modify the transom to 45 degrees! when i asked him what boats are on the market with this transom the answer was none.
apparently they were in talks back then with a Rib builder to use them.
I all honesty imo, they are more of an engineering exercise.
I could not get my head around the idea of having a stand at the london boat show and not having anyone to sell the engines to!
things maybe different now though.

Careful Jon or he'll be saying you'll be in the ideal position to keep an eye on his transom
