Trim pump advice

I managed to get salt water in to my trim foot switches on Saturday which ended up giving the pump a mind of it's own. I think the pump ended up getting both up and down supplies at the same time.

It worked all day on sunday until the last 5 mins. On closer inspection, the pump is receiving it's supply but not operating.

Has anyone got an old one taking up space somewhere, it's the standard Merc type with one large tilt ram and two small trim rams with the pump mounted in the saddle. It's on a 89 Mariner 200.

Also, I suspect that the unit cannot be removed without taking the engine off the tramsom. Please tell me if I'm wrong.

Cheers Chris.

dose sound that way but if the amature is not burnt you may get away with cleaning and replacing the brushes!

always look for the simple problems first the motor may just be stuck

Thanks chaps

Thanks for the advice chaps. Andy, the one on ebay is not the right one, Shame. Do you think that one would run an offshore ram? I have one on a saddle waiting to go on!.

Also Andy, if you could send me the Pdf that'd be a lot of help. My email is chris.whitwam@gmail.com

Again thanks chaps.
