Triple Outboards
Can you run different HP when running Triples and as the V shape on the hull different length legs. Say a longer leg for the middle engine.

I know you can run different length legs but wouldn't have thought you can run different power

I would have thought a shorter leg in the middle......
And I would guess you can run different HP if you match the prop speeds etc...

Uniflow- Phantom 23' twin rig think it was 2x 175 with a 65 merc in the middle took it right up to the class limit. might have been 140's cant recall, longer shaft in the middle unless you are using a remote water pick up.
Tiger Tiger though twins was a 235 one side & a 140 or 150 the other - merc/ johnnyrude mix

different engines
You can use different horsepower engines if you want ,I used a 225 promax merc and a 200 EFI on a 21 Bernico some time ago.
I had only 100 rpm difference in top rpm,and when accelerating ,the strongest will pull the weakest easy ,so you will not notice any if not watch the rpm gauge.

Thanks for the info. How would 250 on the outsides with a 225 in the middle with the longer leg in the middle to compensate the V in the hull sound.

engines
What sort engines ?
both have to be based on the same sort engines, for example if you are using 250 EFI,,s mercs 3,0L and a 225 EFI 3,0L in the center ,it wil be ok.
if you are using a 250 3,0L EFI,s outside ,and a 225 promax 2,5 L in the center,it will not run properly ,as these are completely different in blocks ,torque ,rpm, range and gear ratio.

I assume your blocks are mercs?
If so, your be fine ,if the engine,s are 3,0L 250 and 225 EFI,s you have a great set up,converting to 250 is easy ,you can open up the 2 butterflies, and send your ecu,s to the US,and modify them to 250 specs.
These 3,0 L are very dependable, very good power /torque,my favorites back then, wish merc made them in 20 inch left and right.

What you want in the middle is the Yamaha duo prop outboard - the only outboard I know of with contra rotating props!

Is it still in production? Thought it had been dropped.
The merc deuce high would be an interesting choice.

I thought the yam duo prop was out for a while.
But you don,t have to bother with 1 extra rh turning prop in the center ,you won,t notice that with a triple set up.
I have had triple and quad set up ,and always found difficult to find trim position to be equal, cause trim speed isn,t always the same.

IIRC 2 speed gearbox (in the mid) and removeable skeg.
The blackhawk drive is another "cool thing"
