Water Pick Up Question

Hi guys,

I've bought this water pickup with controls about 3 years ago

I don't remember who I bought it from
Anyway I have never use a water pickup and ballast tank
Can you tel me on what hight I should install it?
I don't want to brake it while picking the water at high speed

pick up measurement

with the pick up down the leading edge should be flush with the base of the transom. and the aft edge around 10mm lower. strike a line through the pick up with the rule flat against the hull this will give you the plane of the hull then just measure 10 mm down on the aft edge and join the lines. This will give you around 8-10 psi of water preasure
