Weight of A phantom 20"

Hi,

I am trying to find out the approxi, mate weight of a Phantom 20". I need to get a tow bar for my car, and before any clever dicks who are my mates have anythign to say, yes I plan on using my Alfa Romeo for this, possible a lesson to be learn somewhere in this for me.

I wasnt to put a removable swan next tow bor on and these have a maximum tow-weight of 1200KG, so I've been told! To put a flange bar on I will have to cut my bumper, which I have no intention of doing!

Can anyone help me out here, the boat is on a double axle Snipe trailer, without engine at this stage!

Cheers everyone!

I'd think all up complete with fuel on trailer you would be looking at between 12 and 1300 kgs, I hope swan neck removable towbars are rated to more than 1200kgs though as i have been using one to tow my 2tonne rig round for last 18 months

Hi,

I spoke to a mate of mine who works for Audi and he was saying the factory fitted Swan necks for their saloon cars can take about 1200kg - 1800kg pulling weight (Flex as its apparently called by those in the know) but must not exceed a verticle pressure weight of 80 kg.

This means not only will I have to find out the weight of the boat to calculate pulling weight but also might have to shuffle my axels to adjust for this.

Does someone have a gun so I can shoot myself in the head, or simply hook up my boat/trailer with a big boy towbar and run me over!!

Thanks for listening!

Apologise for the spelling, doing a message from a phone is never a good idea
