What is the best Pitch Propeller for A merc 75hp on a 16 ft Fletcher ?

i have just bought a 1990 Fletcher Black Max 16ft which has a 75hp Mercury with a 17 pitch Propeller, i have bought the boat for wakeboarding and just wondered whether the Propeller was the right pitch?

Also what would be the biggest propeler i could go upto for top speeds ?

Cheers....

Laser 11

Try a Laser 11 small hub 20"
Have a few mates run this style of prop before on Fletchers with good success.

If this proves to be a little high pitch then have it re worked to a 18.5" or 19"

An old mate of mine had a 147 & 75 merc that he used for mono skiing. I only ever drove it the once with him skiing and recal that in order to get enough pull-out the prop would over rev the engine by about 400rpm @ WOT........... I.e it was a bit light by a couple of inches in pitch. Prop was a laser II.

wouldnt have a clue. I think you need to take the boat out and see what revs it pulls with the 17 and assess the relatives merits of different props from there on.
