Which dual cable system for Evinrude 140hp

hi guys !

I have a 16ft Ring with 140hp Evinrude (1992, model BE 140 T LENS) this combo does 65mph and is real fun. I only use it in fresh water.

3 years ago I installed a new single cable steering (Ultraflex T71FC drive unit with planetary wheels and M66-14FT cable). This steering is still in excellent condition. I can turn the wheel with one finger and the system gives good 'feeling' and feedback.

However, I can't get rid of the slack in the system

+ I get some torque in the steeringwheel at top speed at full trim. I think I could control the chinewalk alot better and reach higher top end if I could get rid of the slack. Also, I think single cable is not safe anymore at these speeds...

I 've read a lot of threads and I think I should go for dual cable in stead of hydraulic... Can you guys give me advice with an exact brand + type of quality dual cable steering that suits my engine type ? Perhaps some internetlinks ?

can you not add a second cable to your existing system?

Good idea...
Besides the cable I'll surely need a second drive unit to be mounted on the same steering shaft. I need a Ultraflex specialist to confirm me if it's possible whitout going through too much trouble....

... Naah... I wanna get a complete new system.
Maybe it's better not to save money on my steering system, I want it to be good this time... ! (The supplier of my single cable system gave me bad advice, u see, otherwise I would 've installed a dual cable 3 years ago... :-p)

Dont forget that you need a bracket to mount on your motor too. this is not always the same for each motor. And i think that it's not cheap too.
