XR2 age

Can anyone tell me if this is the late "200" or the early "150" XR2? [course it might be a yamaha 90, then i'm gonna look a ****)

The serial starts OB which is '89 by my reckoning - which a search of this forum seams to reckon is the change over year - or there abouts.

Thanks guys!

JBD I don't think that motor has vertical reeds looks like a horizontial reed set-up to me.

The motor could be a 2.4 or an early XR2 (150)

I'd have thought if it was cheap enough a 150xr2 on a P18 would make a nice combo

Guess I'm just a grumpy, misrable, cynical old bugger. people normally know what they have and what they are exactly getting rid of.

Defo vertical dude look at the manifold and front case half.

Early XR2 I suspect as its unpainted and the hipo 2.4's were 7 petal horizontal.

Horizontal manifold below.............

It needed work, not pumping water (although did not "look" like it had overheated" and trim pump knackered). It's also a right mish-mash of bits.

Yes you are probably right. I don't really know what i want but this mota needed money and work thrown at it and i did'nt want to do that to an older XR2. May have been the wrong choice
