XR2 temp sender

Could anyone confirm the part number or supplier(Non Genuine) for a temp sender, the gauge on mine has never worked-probably because the wire ends in a loop taped up and stuffed into a box section up behind the side trim, not doing a lot of good there and I would like to get it working- XR2 2.0 2000Thanks in anticipation

XR2 temp sender

On XR2 engine the sender is normaly a one wire (Rep 13 on the drawing), installed on starboard cylinder head. If you are using a 2 wires, that's mean that your engine don't use the standard sender. And off course it's another reference.
you have 2 references (one wire, check it before)

sender (starboard) MM-974651 45.44$
temp sender (starboard) MM-97465 45.41$

Mine has the warning buzzer and sender for this on the engine, but looks like it has never had the gauge connected to the engine, the gauge only has one wire which goes to engine sender unit and this is what I need to add,I know the temp gauge will probably be inafective but as its on the dash it would be nice if it works.I was thinking of changing the Buzzer to a warning light as I was concerned I would not be able to hear the buzzer if it did overheat. Thanks for info
PS also looking to put water pressure gauge as this is probably more usefull

defo get a water pressure gauge, you can wire your snap switch to activate a buzzer and a light, I'd give up on the temp gauge as even if you get a sender it would still need to be the same range or the gauge or it won't work, if you really want one you'd do better to bin your gauge and get a new one complete with sender.

Agree with Burty,
Trouble with the Merc one is it doesnt have any actual numbers on the thing, just White scale then red, which dont give any great feedback info.
A proper after market with actual temp markings far more useful
