Hi I have a late 80's 150hp Merc that once in gear seems to slip as though not meshing correctly. Is there any adjustment that can be made or is this terminal. I can get both fwds and rev.

Has the bush in the prop spun ? If not likely the dog clutch between the forward and reverse gears has damaged teeth. Should be repairable but who knows, difficult to diagnose over the web.
