yamaha lower unit v4 v6

hello has anyone ever tried a v4 lower unit on a 90 degree 200hp v6? the reason i ask is my gearcase is beyond repair and I cannot source another, I have found a complete unit for a v4 and the bolt holes etc all line up, the only noticable difference is the gearcase itself is 4 1/4 inch wheras mine is 4 3/4, any help most appreciated, thanks Andy

Will the gear ratio not be different?, may explain the different size gear casing

Yes it will be a 1.86:1 ratio on v6 & 2:1 on v4 it will also need a small hub or over hub prop !!
