Yanmar Diesel
Hiya Guys,
A freind of mine has a boat with twin Yanmar Deisel engines, I think there about 1990... One of the turbo's has blown and needs replacing...
Does anyone know much about these engines, are they made by Toyota by any chance?
And info would be usefull and I can probably get more info if you needs be..

HI ANDY, The base engine is Toyota Landcruiser but the turbo is nothing like the vehicle engine, Suggest you contact Graham at Universal Turbo's 01425 471421 he should be able to help.

Best place i have found is Turbo Dynamics in Christchurch 01202 487497,
I think that Yanmar have reviewed there prices as I found it was cheaper to buy one for a 6LP from Barrus than from HIH direct. so check befor buying.

If the engines are 6LP STZE there was one for sale on ebay a little while back that was damaged...dodgy gasket or something but turbo might have been okay...PM me if interested and I might have the old details somewhere...

I know of a 315hp for sale, been dismantled due to a busted piston, but the whole motor is there, including all ancillaries and turbo!
I reckon £1000 would probably buy it!
