newbie

hi there guys, i'm 18 and i'm looking for my first boat, i have a xr2 engine already and am looking for a 18/19ft phantom, preferably an 18ft, i am just looking for a hull and only really have about £500ish to spend, if i can, just thought i'd say hi, an if you've any idea where i can get a hull please be in touch

ah thanks! i'll follow that up, will this be a good boat for me, i'm looking to water ski and just recreational stuff really?

also what is the thing with insurance, is it nessasery, will be be expensive for me being only 18 etc...

If you are only using it for recreational use and water skiing the XR2 is not the best of engines cos the power delivery is at the top end. They also drink fuel and are noisy.
You would be better off with a Yam 115 or 130.

Good choice

I think the first one on that thread is sold.

Phantom 18 is the way to go. Quick boat with an XR2. Enough to give your mates a thrill anyway. I've set a couple up this year so any help you need just give me a shout.

XR2's are noisy and a bit thirsty, but noisy is good and thirsty you'll just have to deal with.
You need to get the idle right but you'll be fine skiing with that set up. Merc V6's are great motors, need keeping on top of though. Plenty TLC.

ah thanks guys, yeh i thought the engine would drink a bit.... ah well i supose i'll have to live with that lol

ah thanks willwood will definatly be in contact

really hope a i can get a hull soon ish, would like to get it in this season if i can otherwise i gotta wait till next year....
