Accident to Shelley ?
Has anyone any more details of an accident which apparently happened last Saturday, to Shelley in the Spirit of Belgium boat ?.
I heard that the boat had sunk & Shelley had a broken nose, etc.
Nothing so far on the www.powerboating.be website that I can see.
Any news at all ?

Seems others are also asking about this incident too.
See the related Thread: P1 or GP of the Sea or ...
Obviously a bad accident, but suprisingly little info' released.
Does anyone know if Patrick is OK, & if Shelley's only injury is the facial one ?

A bit different to the Intracoastal that 'Sea' thing.

Her latest accident has just been discussed on BBC TV South and she is going to be on BBC TV South tonight at 18.30. Talking about her two accidents in two months and about possibly retiring!

Very odd - Poweryacht blog/ says they didn't start either race and Team 26 were a no show? Was it Powerpole when they stuffed it? Also it looks like Drew in Silverline is still suffering with reliability. Shelley's own site also has nothing (and is a bit out of date).

BBC Radio Solent has also reported that Shelley is considering giving up the sport.
It states that Shelley's driver (Patrick) has head injuries.
I guess thats one team less for the rest of the competition.

I see from the 'Echo report, it states the accident happened while practising, hence the DNS for both legs of the Sardina race.

Best Wishes
I think it only appropriate to Offer Best Wishes and a swift recovery to Shelley and driver, for anyone to suffer injuries competing in a sport that she obviously enjoys is a sad story to hear and I hope it doesn't put her/them off for the future. The Sport needs you!

Me too!
Seeing Shelley on BBC last night was not good.
We need her lively "go for it" spirit in our sport!

She looked a bit shell-shocked (no pun intended) on South Today I thought. You can't blame her for having a re-think about her future in the sport - it must change your outlook when you come close to perhaps losing your life.

Same from me Shelley - get well first and then sort out the racing - I'm sure you'll make the right decision for you!

Just been on the BBC national news this morning.
The video of her first accident was what they kept showing.
Hits the national news for all the wrong reasons but thats what the channels are after i guess
