Engine Set up Height

Hello,

I've recently bought a Ring 16 with 90 Yamaha, the package came with a standard 17p Aluminium propeller which pushes the boat at 46mph and revs just over 6k. I have tried a 20p laser which gave the same speed but rpm was reduced to 5200, also a 18p vengeance which produced 47mph at 5800rpm.
The engine is sitting on the transom on the lowest hole ( as shown in picture) I am considering lifting the motor 2 or 3 holes to see if this makes much difference when running the bigger pitch propellers, if anyone reading this has any suggestions on running height or propeller recommendations It would be much appreciated.

Thanks for reading and I will look forward to hearing from you.

Hi
If you are just looking for speed and don’t want to ski, you could go up as high as the bolt holes would allow (your engine looks very low) then try a lazer 22 but get it thinned, you should be able to get 55ish
