When UIM took this decision they broke against their own rules. I really hope the rule is out....

Oskarshamn is a really nice town and can give very rough sea so if the rule is out I really hope that so many as possible will participate.

we would like to compete but if this rule is forced through then we will not have time to fit a canopy or get another boat. There is no statistics to prove it would be safer, its underhand the way it is being dealt with

The V24 has the same running surface as the B23. This looks like a combination of both as it has B23 wings but has a V24 fore deck and canopy.
Apparently it has a modified running surface / rear step aswell to make it run higher speeds. Do you know what speeds the boat runs Scand?

It won in Lyngør 28th of May in difficult conditions averaging 58.8 knots over 45(?) nautical miles. As far as I know this was its first race.
Dont know the speed under ideal conditions.

Its a V24 built for 3C with a modified rear running surface and with the cockpit moved aft 40 cm.

Lyngør, Norway

Allready from morning of the race it was very tough conditions and parts of the course were moved to more protected areas inshore.
On approx 25% of race course wave height of 2 meter pluss, wind speed of 12
meters/sec and still increasing. Waves in from 60 degrees from behind, turning south waves in same angle from front. Hard to read.
Pictures in (from the more calm parts of the course.

best regards Lyder

News from swedish website.
One italian boat has flipped(yesterday):C16, Roberto Lo Piano och Ricardo Esperto.
They were apparently out testing, without helmet, and without belts . (not official training). Boat is damaged. There is also apparently a dispute between the organizer and the italian team....
