But what is OCR now? ?

I really don't understand all the classes at all , I really want to race this year here and I'm looking at rigs now but with so much confusion.

If I do get a boat I think I'll head back to Guernsey ( if they'll have me back ) where we all run together in the same race. Maybe not the best system but good racing and lots of boats on the water at the same time .

Why can we not pull all the clubs here and do that or something simple, or is it simple here and I'm just stupid?

SEPA have already put 2 multi class 'National/International' events on the calendar!

Everyone welcome

Will there be any OCRDA Events this year and are 3B invited?

Yes, as per calendar. And as 3b are same as OCR B then all can come.

How about a sticky in the muster section detailing what the classes are that can be kept up to date?

Don't worry, I won't try and talk you over to "The Dark Side" but that doesn't mean we couldn't have a pint in the Pavilion. LOL

Would they be RYA National events for 3B?

Obviously, there are quite a few differences between Offshore 3B and OCR 1.3 Ltr i.e. boat weights, boat designs, equipment, etc but I appreciate some boats could do either class.

If you are running any RYA National events for 3B that would be great.

Maybe it could be run along similar lines to the Folkestone Multi Class event - 2 heats on a shorter course one day (not too short!!!) and a longer full heat on the next, weather dependent.

Remember Looe ? Where I was told an offshore boat with steps and wings could not be run on an OCR type course as the handling characteristics were completely different & was considered unsafe ... Wasn't even allowed to launch the boat

Yes, but now we have "multi class" !!

Bottom line is, if you guys want to go racing then you can go racing we will put on events if you support them. Sadly there is still very little joined up thinking between clubs so you will still have to take your pick !!

Small laps

Real long laps ....

Small laps are brilliant, tight corners, chicanes...

Test of real driving! Especially when its rough!!
