Thumbs up 3A World Championship 2014

Congratulations to Guernsey Powerboat Association on securing the 2014 3A World Championships to run alongside their 2014 3B World Championships in September. We hope the participation reflects the effort put in to place Guernsey and the UK on the world platform again!

Looking forward to a fantastic week of racing, friendship and fun! Well done to the race organising team - make sure you are there from 9 - 15 September.

3A & 3B World Championships Guernsey September 2014

Fantastic result for all of us, now dust off those boats and get them to Guernsey.

For those who fancy their chances, 3A is for 115 hp EPA motors, that's evinrude and mercury 115 as far as we know. boats can only be mono hulls, length from 5.75 to 7 metre , width 1.6 to 2 metre, that's approx 19-23 ft long and 5ft 4" - 6ft 61/2" wide. also minimum weight of boat and crew is700kg.
That will cover a lot of boats that are already out there, just get a motor on and have a real chance of winning with talent not just a cheque book............. just a few Guernsey boys to get past first! and a couple of batboats with chopped off wings which can meet the regs.
3A and 3B will race together, we'll over 20 boats already, and there is every chance a 3A boat could take the trophy for overall winner. cold beer and hot competition guaranteed.
check out the facebook page, add your interest to race and the website will be up and running soon.

Guernsey 3A & 3B Worlds

Nearly forgot the 3B boys, just to refresh your memories, 115. like 3A, but bats and cat allowed, minimum length 5m, max 6.8, that's 16ft 43/4" - 22ft 5" approx, minimum weight with crew, 655kg for mono, 730kg for cats. Thinks 16 phantom could still meet the regs?
You will need to check the fine detail on latest regs, but I am sure this is and previous post are pretty accurate
don't be shy, come and join us.

If Guernsey comes under the RYA you'll need to sort out all the documentation with them re ; measurement certificate etc !!
Best of luck and hopefully see you in Coniston !!

Fab news!

Looking forward to it!

Paul
You need to register your boat and number with the RYA and then have the boat measured. The RYA will then issue you with a Measurement Certificate. You should then be able to keep your number for the year except if an International boat has the same number, then the host nation has to change.
