Guernsey is part of the U.K
not as many regulations on classes here though
ie I can still race my two litre XR2
I am sure it won't be too long before you see a local team on the Mainland though

World 3C in Sweden 11-20 July 2011 and five races planned in 2011 in UK for all traditional offshore classes including 3C, but this is dependant on RYA charges and competitor support.
Many racers are suggesting that it could be cheaper and happier to race abroad and this appears to be emerging as a real alternative.
The World 3C in Corsica was a pleasure to attend and personified what powerboat racing is all about and all the important French personnel were there in person to welcome us. Bit different to Harwich, unfortunately.

Malta Powerboat Association, will run a 4 event callender in 2011.
20th March 2011 Valletta The Waterfront
1st May 2011 St Thomas’s Bay
25th September 2011 St Paul’s Bay
30th November 2011 Mellieha
All boats have 2 races per event. Races are short (22nm) around courses that are between 1.8nm(Grand Harbour) and 3.7nm (St Thomas Bay)
t present their are 2 classes C & D
C is upto 200hp
D is above 200hp
However their is a minimum power to weight ratio (looks like being 4kg per hp..decision about this rule will be confirmed at AGM next saturday)
We (Goldensand OR) will also be entering the French 3L class, waiting for Cathy and Laurent to get back to me with dates and locations (south of France I hear though)
Cheers P

The U.K has a great pedigree in offshore.
What really helped resurect the racing in Guernsey was seeing all the V-24s,3cs and Honda race boats compete for four years.Hosting the world championship 3c was also instrumental in getting the new breed of racers up and running.
When are the National Championships being held and when is Cowes ?
