UK Team wins Powerboat P1 Grand Prix of Sicily
14 international teams competed at the weekend in the final race of the 2004 Powerboat P1 World Championship season at the Grand Prix of Catania, Sicily.
The race brought great success to the UK SuperSport team, Buzzi Bullet, owned and driven by Exeter based property investor Drew Langdon and navigated by London based pyschiatrist, Jan Falkowski . After a slow start at the beginning of the season, they ended on a high by winning the Grand Prix of Catania, Sicily. The 20 points that they earnt added to their overal score, placed them second place overall in the 2004 World Championship behind Italian team Fainplast.
In Evolution Class, team Thuraya, Throttled by ex Tennis Pro, Adriano Panatta were crowned champions for the 2004 World Championship season. Despite incurring an engine problem that forced them to retire from the race, their points earnt in previous Grand Prix were sufficiant to stave off second placed team, Dino Bianchi.
