Basic race?
Anyone know of any basic races between now and June, other than the cancer race?

Might take the Aquavite along for a run.
Actually have always enjoyed racing at Allhallows and one of the most welcoming clubs in racing.

Been on the phone today to them, seemed very friendly. Be good to see the 'Aquavite' on the water.
Any ideas when they'll arrive?

Would be good if we could get a good fleet together for the Allhallows race.
It is certainly different from anywhere else - most of the course drys out at low tide, a bit rough and ready, wooden slipways and old Land Rovers for launching - but a real powerboat club and always a very good welcome in the bar!
Our ship is due in on the 24th Feb and the plan is to rig as quick as possible - then get some testing in and get Cye skiing behind one for a test!

We will definately be there with the Bat ... last chance for some racing before everything gets serious..
... and Breanna is planning on running a cake stall as the playgroup day trip had to be postponed due to the Brass Monkey being cancelled (all for charity of course)

We are working up the advance programme and should be ready to post in a few days time. Interest has been substantial and might indicate a revival in Powerboat Racing at an affordable level, which was our original motivation.
Main aim was to re-introduce fun and socialising to grow powerboat racing and AYC is the perfect venue to achieve that goal. We are humbled by the response.

Barry, I didn't read that as a negative post at all, just like the way people talk about our Drivers Wharf poker runs being a bis basic, rough n ready, but it's all part of the appeal, and the people make it, not the venue.
Adam said it would be good to get everyone there because it's great, don't read a negative tone into it. I thought he was complimenting the club.
Just how I see it.
Jon

As Jon says - I was trying to be supportive and sorry if you have taken any offence. Actually I have raced at Allhallows a number of times since 1980 and always enjoyed the competition and friendliness of the club - but Monte Carlo it is not - which in may ways is a good thing!
Anyway - I'm happy to race or not - or if you wish to discuss further give me a call.

Too sensitive !!! my comment was made as tongue in cheek as was yours,
lets just leave it there. Actually we have upgraded the launch vehicles to adapted RRs with front tow bars.
