going by the forecasts this really could be a brass monkey race, it may even be an idea to postpone(if possible) for a few weeks if the roads are impassable by Friday

Thought I'd help with some useful advice gained from the discovery channel should the race go ahead, it has been pointed out after more research on the Titanic that should you find yourself on a collision course with an iceberg rather than avoid a glancing blow hitting it strait on should give the boat a better chance of staying afloat

There that's my helpful public broadcast done for the day

Weather

Just spoken to Hazel Cox about a possible postponement and she indicated to me that they are going to make the call today, late afternoon or early evening. She'll be contacting all parties.

Unhappy

Weather forecasts have been monitored for the past 24 hours, and the depression is deeping (in more ways than one!).

Decision made - the Brass Monkey event is CANCELLED.

The only good thing about Saturday's forecast is that it should be sunny!
Winds of 16 mph plus gusts of 27 mph with a maximum air temp of 4 degrees, following a -2 degree probably wet night with winds of force 6 to 8, means that we consider the risks too high.

The race is cancelled - not postponed. You can carry your entry forward to the R.M.Y.C. June Charities event. Call Hazel next week for further info.
So sorry, folks

Not a problem Gino, shame we didn't get to push the old girl round. I'm doing the cancer race in June if you're up for it.

Ye your right. if it hadn't of been for the snow all week leaving the roads in such a state and making it unsuitable for teams to travel yesterday it would have been one of the best BM sea states for years ... tis a pity for the racers and the spectators, I was rather hoping it could be re-arranged for another weekend and if it was Sunday I don't mind helping out by being a general dogs body ...
