I did the national at barrow last year raced sat and sunday and it only counted as one license, but you can never tell with the rya.

I will pay £50 towards any boatmad BASIC boat that will race at Littlehampton, sortof 'sponsorship' to help with the costs. Not much I know, but every little helps.

To qualify you *have* to be a BASIC entry boat, and either the driver or the navigator needs to be a boatmad member as of this date & time.

So that will cover half your boats entry fee. And hopefully get a few who are 'thinking about it' to actually make the jump.

Gav, I believe its 5 races not 5 events. So if you do two at LA, then 2 blocks will be signed on the licence. You still have Cowes Round the Island and the RMYC event to go yet.

I'm sure Pennpromo can jog my memory on this...

Reading further, it appears that you can compete in every basic race for the rest of the year using this new licence, with no restrictions on the number of races....

unless you have already used your 2 event licenses prior to purchasing the restricted license, so i will only have 3 races out of a possible 5 remaining!

5 being.......2 x L.A, 1 x Cowes, 1 x RMYC, Torquay??

An event licence covers you for the whole event whether it is one race or three (we have two),you dont have to buy one for each day of an event

Gav's question is ambiguous.

If he's asking from the perspective of wanting to upgrade to a full national license and getting sign off from the OOD, it counts as 2 races.

If he's asking from the perspective of a basic event license, it counts as 1 event.

Maybe Ive lost it then,cos in OCR you only get one signature for a two day event,not 2 so you have to compete in 4 events before you can upgrade

OK, I'll check. When I did my provisional at the beginning of last season it was the number of races, not events, that entitled me to upgrade for a full national license.

Two races at a single event is two signatures.
One event can have twenty races and still only constitutes a single event licence.

BUT - If you read the literature it becomes aparent ( to me ) that the new version of the non-national multi event licence will cover you for every basic race for the rest of the year.
