The CR race had one of the calmest days I have known for Poole Bay, the V24's put on the normal competent show against other classes for once I really did think a 200hp 3c/f200 cat may beat them but it was not too be, thus proving a 3c boat is never likely to best a V24 even in perfect conditions, the Ring cruiser looked to be going well with Adams RB challenger not far behind running around late 60's-70mph, maybe running in plus weighted for RB challenge anyhow it rode very level and if it does that speed around UK I recon it will be in with a good chance, sadly their was only one other RB challenger in a small single engine RIB at the back of the pack running around mid 40's mph this boat needs reliability to come anywhere in RB, a Honda 225 also got relegated to the back no doubt the calm conditions not allowing the boat to use it's 26' to any great advantage over the smaller boats, another boat also struggling was a Phantom 28 replica seamed to be porpoising, and just not running well assume by it's lack of speed it only had a pair of 200hp engines...and the winner is...a large 1200hp Fountain that toyed with it's pray and pounced at the last moment for a convincing victory but pleased the viewing public with it's display and know doubt made Gordon Brown happy with a large petrol bill...well done to all good show
