Inshore Ski Racing

This year we are running a separate inshore series of six races. The first four races are to be held at Loch Earn over next weekends bank holiday and the final races are in Cardiff on June 9th. So we don't really know yet what sort of numbers to expect. The hope was that the shorter races at inshore venues might attract new skiers or even drag old skiers back to the sport but we shall see. The turnouts have been quite encouraging so far with twenty nine race boats at Lyme but surprisingly many of the boats at Stone were not at Lyme.

I used to like the inshore sprints !! Still got my Kona that we ran at Loch Earn in 1993ish !! also used to drive an OZ Molinari cat in F2 sprints and that was something else. required a certain type of skier though it was very fast.

I would love to see the looks on the F2 skiers faces when a Molinari cat lines up on the grid beside them!

It was impressive !! Ask Darren he will remember it. He will remember the Kona as well, he skied behind it at Holme Pierpoint.

And as ski racing is not governed by the RYA, a different set of Approvals and Race Rules...
