Cool charity race

i thought it would be great fun, there seems plenty of intrest.i had in mind a low max hp of say 40 or 50 hp so you could buy some prehistoric chrysler or some thing and maybe a max length of 14ft ,just a couple of thoughts

Blind Dog, how do these sound for starters? (Your idea, so you get to agree the rules)

• Max budget £300
• Max Hp 50
• Max boat length 16'
• No standard production boats allowed (however heavily modified ones would be okay)
• Small entry fee by way of donation to chosen charity (to be confirmed)
• Min 2 people, driver + navigator (chief bailer!)
• Lifejackets, etc would be compulsory
• Cup issued to winners (hopefully to be competed for each year if we don't all drown?)
• Remember this is for fun only

Any one else got any ideas?

'Heavily Modified' is anything that makes your fellow competitors fall to the ground laughing, not just a change of colour!

Gazza's 'secret weapon' has been spotted on trial in sunny Scotland.

Not sure if this qualifies as it may just be over the £300 budget limit, i think we are going to have to watch our cousins from the north!!!

Rumours that our boat is already undergoing sea trials is somewhat premature...

Ok guys,
Got to level with you here, i cannot get a co-pilot i have been in contact with everyone i know, when i tell them the race idea they think it would be fun but when i tell my (Secret Idea) everyone is willing to watch all say you will die.
If no one has any objections i would like to run with ballast of around 60Kg
it will be made of stuff and @ £300 i will run an old small inboard as i cannot get an outboard for my plan cheaply enough.
Are there to be any rules to how far a recorded bounce should be from each time the machine hits the water if travelling at high speed? Blinddog can you answer this!!
The only thing i can say mine will have full BM livery and will be built from scratch out of old stuff, hope to have first trial in the rougher water by Christmas.
If not succesful i will post the trails on u tube if successful nobody will see it till the challange.
Is there any restrictions on prop size, when you see the idea you will buckle up with laughter, if this stuffs it sinks big time.

This is going to be fun, we have some set up to do the speed trap for the highest speed of the day.
This will become clear in the photos.

Think the Brass Monkeys Race is around the begining of Feb the guys here will correct me if i'm wrong.
I'm doing my ICorr exams some time in the next 90 days, and failure is not an option i know how you feel and this should be your 1st priority.
At the end of the day we are only trying to give everyone here the biggest laugh when we post the photos.
