Class 1

Class 1 in a complete sht fest again thanks to the childish spoilt behaviour of the team from some where in Qatar.
dubai round and qatar withdrew from the race at the last minute because they could not have the course they wanted.
Time was given for all boats to change props/gears etc

Oh and cos they want to ruin C1 and go and race stateside again, oh and they couldnt win this year in c1 now either.

Course shortened for rough weather and they didnt like it. ( the locals dont need another accident)

Guess what there is also a C1 team wanting to run the sport. So break it to take over is a good option

Always interesting when anonymous people's first post is to slag something off! Maybe you should tell us who you are to lend some credibility to your post?

Class1 1 dubai

Yes what Bob`s link says is correct , i was told Victory was changing setup whiles all the others where in the waiting pontoon ,it seems Victory new the course was going to be altered so they changed the setup BUT ontop i was told that for arriving late on pontoon you`re sopose to start on last position too which it did not happen .

Question Class 1

Just a local spectator of the event in Dubai for 10 years, watching the racing grow into a debacle as these owners fight petty arguements every year while the event and numbers goes down each year.

As for the comments above Victory were last boat in according to the rules as pole boat so where at the crane when the decision was taken so yes first to change but the start time changed for all to change if they wanted too. A number of boats did.

i have not seen a sport that allows teams to rule the decision making by constant threats of leaving unless they get their way. No wonder numbers are down and no sponsors.

Item 3 is not uncommon, it has worked well for years with Ducati in Superbikes!

In addition the course change suited Victory as they would start in single file, it seems the course resembled an inshore circuit size and the conditions were no worse than the morning practise - I guess there will always be two sides to the story!

The reason the Sheik is going back to the USA to race is that it's an even playing field and he is welcomed! Several other teams are supported by the Victory team with help and parts so the get a lot of support from the rest of the fleet. Can't say I blame him really ..............

at least the win of the victory had a bad taste. In my opinion the right decision would have been to start the race maybe one hour later, so every one had a chance to change set up. Following class 1 for over 15 years I have seen a few moments victory team bend the rules to suit them.

Plus 1! (Illegal) Steerable drives and instigating shorter courses which were shorter than the rules allowed for was another Victory classic.

Was it not Qatar that whooped Victory ass last time there where some kind of offshore to talk about?

Not strange Victory would prefer a shorter calmer course and Qatar the other way around?

I might be wrong, but then again i don't follow Class 1 since... Well, it's a mess, just like X-cat series.
