What's the deal with the scatter cushions in V69? Don't they obscure visibility as they bounce around - in fact - mebbe that explains something.

The scatter cushions are so that Ana feels that she is at home. She has a little black and white TV to look at, and she gets tied up - exactly like home.
Now you know why I drive like I do...

Was great fun being in Cowes and seeing everyone once again.
Shame that we retired during early but we broke a drive coupling and that was that. Boat had been going really well and the 4 blade props were a revelation. First time that we started with the other boats and were in the leading group at the first turn. Speeds were OK too as we averaged 51.34kn for the first lap and 53.34 for the second so we should have been in the top three had we finished. We were seeing about 72 mph on the Gaffrig at 4500 revs so ther's another 500 revs of speed left in the boat.
Another small problem we had was that our bow tank decided to pack it in the day before the race. It would have really come in handy as the boat was incredibly bow happy although almost fully trimmed in. We really missed it when we had to back off a bit in the very lumpy stuff and watched Hot Lemon go past us and through it with barely any effect. There was no way we were going to catch him unless it calmed down a bit and there was no way that was going to happen.

Ben, it was great to catch up with you - and also to get to know Amanda & Rupert a bit. I share your (and Alan's) frustration with breaking down - although at least I didn't have to travel 3000 miles for it. Nevertheless, Mr Noisy seems to be on good form now for more racing in the future. Bring on next year!
