Decline & change

Picking this up from another thread.

Fist get rid of GPS compass only get back to basic skills & loose the computer operators, be fun in the V24's then.

Why do the RYA charge for numbers,
I'll take it on and only charge ya £25.00 & still do very nicley thank you.

If the powers to be can't see it coming there is a breakaway coming happened in M/C racing with the ACU offshoot was the AMCA & ORRA. There was the threat of you cant race in our races then................ So people did'nt entries increased, the war finished & there was a lot more Competitors & record entries still increasing.

Just read PB1 No wonder there is a decline.

Not sure what you mean by charging for numbers?

Fancy managing the breakaway?

Well RYA used to charge you for your racing number B2 Rule & B4 PB1 /03

Powerboat racing is a competitor sport; no amount of TV or other images can accurately show what it’s like from the drivers seat. So it should be for them to choose what direction to take. There are far too many non-competing fossils (me included) that have a finger in the pie.
Me run anything I’m far to abstract and radical.

Cookie, ref your post in the other thread about classes.
QED.
You wanted but it wasn't allowed, run class 1 as well. Whats wrong with running in more than one class happens in other sports. If it happens you can drop into 2 or more classes and it all starts at the same time why not?. Think they would get round it by different start times, course, days, ect.
Very easy to put up hurdles, how about removing them and making it easy. Can always change it again if it didn't work.

The races started together - same course - they even had (for media purposes) the two classes linked together, but even though my boat had a measurement certificate for both classes it was disalowed.

I am hoping that now there has been a big change around and more forward thinking people that both classes will be encouraged to run together.

The only sticking points for Formula 200 as far as the RIBs are concerned, is what happens if the batboats decide it's too rough for them and the RIB want to and can race - will points still be awarded? Will people be expected to join a second club as well?

Oh yeah they made the RYA insurance compulsary by doing a group thing and passing on "some" of the cost! So I have to cancel my very good policy with other benefits that covers me anytime anywhere and go with something that covers me for racing only?

All said and done if the people who are forward thinking and determined to improve the sport get thier way, this season could go down in history as the one that improved the sport no end - so I have my fingers crossed for them!

Yeh start everybody at the same time one bleeding great start. Make it more spectacular, and exciting, possibly dangerous even.

Guess what that’s what motor sports are just look at the track warnings
Every time I go racing the bike they tell me I'm going to kill myself or lose a limb.

Joe public has a retentive span of about 15 mins so capture it
