Devon/Cornwall Meeting

Was talking about getting a load of racers together. Anyone up for a weekend, perhaps next month.

We are conjuring up a plan or two for an event later in the year and want to guage support.

Suggest the format:

Boat in water day 1 + evening out/hotel and perhaps day 2 in water too.

before the season kicks off?

That's the idea Dan. Mix up some Honda boys and girls as there's quite a few in the area and get out all classes who fancy a weekend on the water, a couple of beers over an evening and basically talk boats! I think it would be great to get a load of classes together... seen couple of Zats and I'm sure a Thundercat in the Sound. If we can get a dozen or 2 boats out too it would be quite a spectacle for the public to have a look around if we pick a suitable venue. Kind of a drop in if you fancy it weekend

Hi everyone,

have been buried in a bit of business. OK. I'll start working on a date and confirm a proposed time and venue this weekend. Off to QAB and see if they'll do a deal for those like me a bit too lazy to launch for free at Mountbatten. As my collegues in Exmouth know, I don't do slipway landings with a flowing tide or nasty nasty cross winds. Also I'll check with the champ and see if he wants to get his bottom dirty ;-)

Will avoid the Honda AGM time too. I feel a plan coming together.

Yeeehaaaaaa!!!!

Date For Meeting

Hi Everyone,

there is quite a bit if interest building in this idea. So how about we go for the 29th/30th March. Easter I understand is the weekend before and the Saturday is change night fo BST.

Next we need to plan the event. It'll be in Plymouth.

Remember YOU ARE ALL WELCOME!!! Not just Honda.

Repeat of format:

Saturday: Boating + Lunch (Or if there is a storm- extended lunch
Saturday night. Dinner TBA
Sunday : Boating + Sunday lunch (optional) ;-)

Incidentally this is not just for race boats. More the merrier.

We'll try and get the press to support the occasion and set up some options for launching etc.

Nothing serious, just a weekend doing what we all love to do!!

Let me know if you're up for it.

Yep, I'm in
Word of warning QAB was rammed weekend just gone, changed the layout in there, dont know if its permanent or not though.
Sounds like could be some good fun so let get in on! If the weather was nice be ideal to head to a pub (in boats) for lunch but cant think of anywhere apart from Cargreen (spanairds Inn) but that a pain in the arse having to go past the dockyard at walking speed and tide times would be an issue!!!!

My boat ain't gonna be ready (excuses.....) But on the basis that Plymouth is my favourite city (many happy memories), I'll check with the mrs and see if we're free that evening.

You do bugger all in the daytime and Vicky said it was OK for you to work on the boat at night so why isn`t it ready?
