Interesting (to me anyway) that you went into Oyster Bay as I was a resident of that village for my first 34 years. I was watching the race tracker and saw the boat being pulled out at the slipway and was a bit bewildered as it seems that the rig was headed in the wrong direction and then apparently stopped on a rather narrow street in the middle of the village!

Another strange co-incidence - my wife lived on a boat in Manhasset Marina before I met her.

Why Outerlimits:

Because he likes to participate in a great adventure:
With complete control over his transmission:
With complete control over the horizontal and the vertical:
And control all that he sees and hears and sharpen it to crystal clarity:
And to experience the awe and mystery which reaches to the OuterLimits

Nige....Thank you so very much.

Being able to meet some of the guys on the British team was great also. I know Michael Aronow enjoyed spending time with them as they spoke of his memories of Cowes, when he crewed for Don back in the day.

They are the nicest group...reminds me of the old days and the camraderie enjoyed by all the boat racers.

I tried to help Jan the night beofre the race.....I said, with your boat having four engines and all that steering geometry, be careful as you come to Orient Point as it is a sharp turn...perhaps it would be easier on the boat if you just went all the way around Block Island and return to the course on the south side of the island.

Dean said.....that's rather cheeky of you and laughed.

We have some momentum now, hopefully we can pull off another impossible feat here.....getting a boat ready for the RB11.

Charlie

Thank you for that correction, it was hard to explain to my grandson.

It was a pleasure meeting you.......and I sure hope to be able to make that RB11.

Excellent thread form Serious Offshore with a comprehensive race report from Charlie. Bit of a long read but well worth
it.
