This is true, but he did say 'Vilda'.

It seems that even with the proposed rules I've just posted, Vilda will be far from excluded, it can run Cruiser, M3, or M2 and would be dominant in cruiser, I'm sure, and still with the same possibilities of overall placing it would have if in M4.

This is proving to be a tough call, even to please 'most', let alone 'everyone'.

Just to make it clear.
I do this for fun so I don´t really care in which class I race as long as there is a class for my boat.

The cost for me to race in England is high. I paid over £5000 to get the boat home by road from Portsmouth.
Don´t think I want to spend that kind of money to get to all the four races next year.
Going by sea was fun - once.

The RB 2008 was a thrill of a lifetime and I just hope to be part of the racing in the "Marathon"-years to come.

Bloody hell! The tilbury to gothenburg ferry is only 1K for a 30' boat! What was the other 4K on, women & booze?

Or as george best said,
I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

That,s the cost if the boat is 10 ft wide, 36 ft long and weighs over 5 tons.
Talked to several transporters.
Don`t know how far it is from Portsmouth to Tilbury but I have about 550 km to Gothenburg
by road and the boattransporters know their price.
Investing in a own truck is the best in the long run.

It's just been pointed out to me that there are a few glaring errors in M3 & M4 for non epa OBs, will correct that later.

I understand a boat without trailer that goes on a low loader with driver all the way would cost that. (3750+VAT I was quoted some time back). Not having the boat on a trailer was the killer, I imagine.

much better using a weight per length basis. After all a 45 foot boat we naturally weigh more than a 35 footer

Well, It has too many hulls for the Marathon rules anyway. Remember, these rules are being set for the Marathon (Endurance) racing which is Monohull only and will form a series championship.

However, the clubs / RYA may choose to take basic entries from boats that don't conform to the official endurance class for some / all the UK races.

We have a meeting at the RYA on the 22nd to sign these rules off, it may be clearer after that how the basic entries may pan out.

no problem for basic racing the way it's happened in the past and if it remains the same all would be in the unlimited class so could go head to head anyway, it would only be on selective events affecting eligilibity. big thing will be 508 on boat and crew
