F200 Meeting
There will be a F200 meeting at the Carrington Hotel, Bournemouth, this Sunday 6th Febuary. At present it will be scheduled for 1pm, straight after the Media Awarness seminar.
So if you have a 200hp outboard on the back of machine that you would like to race in a National Series come along and find out what it is all about. All current Class 3 2litre, OCR X Class, and F2 Rib crews are invited, as well as those of you who have production boats and are looking to race i.e. Phantoms, Rings, Marshans, Argo's e.t.c. PLEASE come along and support this new racing idea, it will be a real winner!!!!! The new class has a great deal of support and is backed by RYA, UKOBA, and ORDA.
See you all there, (any changes and notification will be given)
Will and Iain Nurse

I thought it was!
trouble is, if the RYA ran a forum, no one would trust them, or say what they really thought on it....shame really.
If the racing section here becomes the accepted 'Racing notice board', I hope it can help the sport forward.

All went very well I believe.
It needs something to kick start the new format and get beyond the discussion stage.
To this end we have formed a steering committee to progress the rules etc. The people elected were:
Rory Power
Richard Strawford
Brian Peedell
Bob Irwin.
UKOBA have pledged to promote the class and ORDA will offer as much support as possible.
As such UKOBA hopes all competitors will join their club. The RYA have been very helpful - to the extent of match funding the new class. They will put the same amount of money in the 'promotional kitty' as comes in from competitors memberships.
I think this is great and good to know we are getting some support.

I phoned Brian and let him know the good news!!!
Peter never made the meeting but I know he is very interested in the new class. There will be a cab up for the first UKOBA race in Portsmouth. We all know the new f200 is not going to please everybody striaght away, but please be patient and see what we come up with. It cant be any worse than what weve got at the moment.

Sure is. At the moment they are negotiating with the Royal Marine, Eastney, museum to use it as a pit area.

Hope the QHM are on board, after the finals 2 years ago they were not sure about any events in Portsmouth waters.
Go show em how it's done.

I'm not sure it's just the ProVee guys who were to blame!

Your right jonny, and before we go down that route and spoil the thread totally, there were many issues that have been taken to task and addressed etc to avoid it happening again.
That event for all it's various reasons didn't do racing any favours, but as the sport is resillient it has bounced back to provide new direction i.e. f200 and is gradually getting back to the top where it should be.

I think youl find that the QHM has a little more on his plate at the moment rather than worrying about us. Operation ORB has shown an interest!!!!

I don't think anyone ever blamed the Pro Vee guys - rather they were the victims of the situation ........... enough said
