Cool Fancy a Race & Hol in Malta in 2010

The Malta Powerboat Association, a fully affiliated RYA powerboat racing club
will be running a 4 event series this year. We charge no entry fee, you race on RYA/MPA event license (this years RYA rules and restrictions apply).

Details are as follows.........

May 22nd & 23rd........Mellieha Bay Grand Prix
June 27th & 28th........Valletta Grand Prix
Sept 12th & 13th........St Paul Bay Grand Prix
Oct 17th & 18th........Valletta or Gozo?

MPA Classes are as follows

115hp Class......... Min boat length is 15ft (2 crew)-3 boats entered
150hp Class.........min boat length is 16ft (2 crew)-3 boats entered
250hp Class.........min boat length 18ft (2 crew)-6 boats entered
225hp Cat Class.......min boat length 21ft (2 crew)-2 boats entered
200hp Class.........min boat length 18ft (2 crew)-6 boats entered
Cyber 25hp Class (1 hull class) (1 crew)-5 boats entered
Minicat 25hp Class (1 hull class) (1 crew)-2 boats entered

If your boat fits a class, you fancy a race weekend in the sun, and a good holiday give us a bell or email. Boat crainage, storage and mooring is free for the duration of your stay.

Accomodation can be subsidised if your going to race.

June race is in the historical Valletta Harbour. Pls see www.mpa.com.mt for
further info.

Only condition is that racers become MPA members.....cost is 10 euros.

I had a look on google and its 2 long days driving, plus an extra 10 hrs for us!

I done the trip over 10 times towing various boats. It is 1530 miles from brighton to Pozzalo in Sicily, then 1hr 40m ferry. Best time I have done towing the 33 is 36hrs. You must really like towing to do it in that time. a 2day trip is far more realistic.

Thats why combining with hols makes more sense.

If you wanted to leave your boat for a couple of months, that could be arranged, as flights are very reasonable.
