Temporary Suspension

Not true!
Clubs were informed that a Safety Review would be taking place but as far as I am aware and my club is aware there was no mention of the temporary suspension being temporarily lifted to allow racing to take place.
Obviously, you had been informed Bob as you attended the event. Its a shame that you didn't mention it at the Drivers Forum on Saturday 19th November!
I think the point is being missed, as Cookee says "..... its the ability to race during a ban"

Just out of curiosity did you ask about organising a final for your club? What was you told?

Nope, I never asked. We're not running for national points or anything so it wasn't an issue to us.
The main reason Dennis was allowed to run was to enable them to finish off a national series and thus be able to award the championship. It's not like he had an easy ride, he had to jump through an incredible number of hoops and I've never seen a race so closely monitored by the RYA.
It just seems to me that there are a load of people on here having a moan that they're not allowed to race but FF are, even though they never even asked!
For what it's worth, the suspension was not actually lifted. As stupid as it sounds to write the race was run with the suspension still in place.
Anyway, it's all going very much in the right direction now so I'd beg that people stop worrying about what happened and instead start getting excited about next year, it's looking good.

It was a massvive issue to us in guernsey and all other race crews in the uk. The people who have spent thousands and indeed tens of thousands on their race boats, booked their years around confirmed race series dates and got their boats ready for racing that was then all cancelled by the rya was very very frustrating for all race crews and very damaging to the sport

Myself and other racers I've spoken to agree with you there jack, it is a big issue our racing being suspended, Like you said we have all spent thousands of pounds on rigging and racing our boat and it's really frustrating with what the Rya have done.Cant understand why they couldnt of let us finish our season off especially as no "safety" changes have been made to the boats!

There's a lot gone on behind the scenes you guys aren't aware of and there's no way it can be said that nothing has been done.
I'd rather sacrifice one race to ensure the future of the sport personally. I can't see why anyone thinks those of us who give all our time for nothing trying to organise races etc, would want to try to destroy the sport.
