To be precise, the world champion didn't actually win any races this weekend!!

It's decided over two races by a points system, highest aggregate wins. As roy came second twice and the winner was a different person each time, he ended up with the highest aggregate!

He's a very deserving champion though, absolutely amazing driving.
All in all a great weekend had by everyone, despite the weather!

James

Not the best situation to have the Worlds decided on two fairly short races - but that was all due to the weather. The organisers did a great job in making things happen and actually get a valid championships - all credit to them.

As to the racing - some really good action and shows what a good class 3C can be.

Roy drove really well and fully deserved his victory - a fantastic last few laps in the second race when he managed to reel in the French mono and get the second position he needed for the overall win.

Thumbs up Guernsey Worlds

Well done to all of you who competed, especially Roy for retiring as World Champion.
Well done too to Ian "Jet Boat" Stirling for a blistering second race and 3rd Place in the World Championship.
I was told cats were fast!!!!! Didn't look like it.

Ummm! Not sure Hayden's wife was too pleased to see me get home 4 hours before him!

At least she has worked out the truth about him after all these years!

I must say a big thank you to a lot of people for helping me become a world champion.

Dave Simpkins- for getting me into the sport and giving a few navigation pointers

Chris Bryant and Mark Brewster for giving me my first race

Peter Berrow- For giving me my first brake into the sport and my first season

Mark Pascoe- For help and encouragement

Cliff and Sharon Smith- for persuading me to race with roy after he tried to kill his last nav

Roy Smith- the coolest cucumber in a boat, that drove out of his skin and always made me feel comfortable in the back. Ooo and almost forgot give me my world championship

Liam Smith and Toby Clayson- Turning the boat round for second race! awsome!

My Mum and dad- for all there support encouragement and help no matter what it was.

There are many others i would like to thank but this post would go on for ever so i would just say thank you to all my friends in the racing community that has helped and supported me.

Well done Roy and Pete

Some fantastic racing to watch which had us biteing our nails right to the last lap.

Also congratulations need to go the Guernsey organisers for running a terrific event in difficult circumstances (the weather was attrocious most of the time).

The world championships are traditionally settled in a three race series over a four day period, with day two normally being the lay day. Guernsey had to make do with the minimum allowed in terms of number of races, minimum amount of time between them, and minimum length. The detail is in the UIM rule book.

Similarly the European championships are settled in just two races.

That was the wash of the Condor Ferry though! Otherwise pretty smooth waters.

Condor being Roy's sponsor!
