guernsey worlds
as hoped the entries for the worlds are growing, also dont forget there is a treasure hunt on the lay day to the island of sark for all ribs and mark boats so it will be a action and fun packed week. Everyone is welcome. It would be a good cruise for all rb08 boats to come across to guernsey Also look at the french site www.offshorepassion.com they seem to have a good series going there.

Looks like they have a good following over there! Really nice paint jobs but odd looking bat boats.

guernsey
their batboats are 26ft and should do well in guernsey,so dont underestimate them. The verado class looks interesting, but obviously does not conform to 3c.

Who will win?
After what i have read on a swedish website it is very windy in guernsey, and that Wrenkler has been out testing the new Hydrocat... I think it is going to be very interesting to see who will win.. I think that Team C-7 (Sjøgren and co.)-hydrocat will be in the top.. The official website for the championship is very good and informative.
Any other toughts about the race and the competitiors?

I think John could well be a good outside bet, although he's running a new boat (to him) so hasn't had time to set it up yet.
It is very windy, going to be around 30mph for practice tomorrow and the first worlds on tursday... looks like the wind will die completely for the weekend though. This would be great as they are running the course through the gulliot passage north to south for what i believe is the first time, if it's too rough, this part would be removed.
Should be interesting to watch the cats in the current conditions!!
All in all it seems to be very well organised this year and there's plenty of entertainment on in the evenings
I'm hoping to track down a couple of boatmad members that are over here and say hi, not too sure who's here yet! I'll be guardboating on steve nicolle's rib during the days, and in the marquee every evening!
Best of luck to everyone,
James

mmmh
you scandaholigans are quick, sorry that should be quick in capitals think it might suit a hydocat or twister more than a hotboat if it flattens off. If it's rough outsiders are the french monos & JG but seat time could be a factor, scottyboy will be knocking on the door really hard and he knows what to expect. Pete Little is always a factor in any race but I'm guessing the others might just have the speed in the flat.
If it's rough first race then tails off that will make placings in heat 2 & 3 very important as it will differ from that first heat greatly.
whos gonna be in there knocking on the door:
AVERAGE MET
Thomas Rosen
Diego Testa
Magnus Sjolander
Peter Little
Thomas Wrenkler
ABOVE AVERAGE
Scott Collings
Ian Stirling
French monos are an unknown to me but they look like they could do the job boats of Noel Giordani and Jean-Claude Baiocchi local waters for Roy & JG, ohh its a hard call
each way bet : scotty boy leading uk national & the perv likes it rough with a good turn of speed in the flat but the number of cats might just outgun the placings required if it tails off. Pete is always in with a shout
oh and somebody will be going swimming as GCI water can just catch you when you think you have it sorted

Kevin Walsh's RIB had a problem with measurement. So he purchased a Backdraft from ebay, boat is just coming off the ferry now.
I understand it was an old Little and Arthur rig.

Weather forecast horrible here for tomorrow and Saturday, so the plan could be 2 x races on Sunday.
Can anyone remember this happening in the past?
