I think you'll find that was Fun Boy Three and Bananarama ..... your probably confusing it with "the lion sleeps tonight", another musical milestone.

Still doesn't answer the question though, how is it that we went from Madness etc, to a load of no hopers and failed x factor contestants?

Just a gentle reminder that entries for Harwich should be in to us by Friday the 2nd July.
Although entries will be accepted after this date, they won't qualify for the incentives on offer and won't get a mention in the programme. Entries can be paid by bank transfer.

Who in Marathon is intending to race at Harwich?

I know Gordon C is, and we are, but who else?

Markus??, Dean?, Dorian?, Drew & the Shrink?, Kilcullen?, Barry Deakin?, Martin M?, Vee & Garth?, Bob Turnbull?, Darren Hook?, Johnny Caulcut?, Scotty-blind dog?, Bounty Hunter?, The geezer with Clive B's splash?, .....

Time is flying by, I doubt very much if team Ringo, or Bananasplits will be ready in time as they're gonna be up against it just to make Cowes, but all who wanna be there need to get their entries in. The organisers also need some firm numbers for organising fuel etc, so please speak with Barrie Williams & get your names on the list.

Harwich Update

Hi everyone

Thanks to all those who have entered so far - keep them coming in!
Please note the closing date for our Promoters' start money incentive runs out tomorrow - Friday 2nd July. Would hate anyone considering entering to miss out ...........

Confirmed paid entries to date::

16/18 x Thundercats
5 x 3C
3/4 x 3B
6/7 x OCR
6 x Marathon See www.sepaoffshore.co.uk

Cliff Smith has said there will also be 3 or 4 of the exciting V24s coming.

To our overseas friends who read this forum - we still need a few more foreign entries for the European 3C event to make it less English - so please contact us if we can be of any further help in getting you over to England to race alongside our English fleet. I can assure you, you will be very well looked after once you arrive in Harwich.

Competitors who have already entered The Harwich Power Festival will also be entitled to a run through the 'Flying Kilo' on the Sunday which is included in their entry fee. Anyone else who would like to join us can be part of the weekend's event by entering the Club race and/or the 'Flying Kilo' at a cost of £50.

Please contact me on sheena.williams3@btinternet.com if you would like further details.

Look forward to seeing you all there.

Could do with the some more of the respective fleets support as there seam to be as many t/cats as there are hard boats. Come on boys nd girls powerboat festivals don't come along every day ya know.........

Harwich Update:

Two more 3C entries in from France today so looks like they may be coming in slowly, thanks to the 'team' who are working hard to jolly them up!

Keep them coming in and we should be able to look forward to a really good European event. Please contact us if we can be of any help getting you over to England!

Update

Seven confirmed overseas entries for the Harwich Power Festival 3C European event, which together with our 4 British contenders is looking good for a closely fought contest. We are expecting additional entries from the Scandinavian countries now that DFDS have joined Ensign as event sponsors.

Harwich 2010

Just to add to Sheena's post, today we've received interest from Norway, so there could be six countries represented internationally.

On the social side, because of the number of European teams sailing back on Monday and the predicted congestion in leaving Harwich on Sunday evening, we are extending the weekend to include a Sunday evening grand barbecue, £5 a head, for all you can eat hog roasts etc., a live band and a VIP tent bar extension. This will be exclusive to competitors, officials and support crews. Our turn to relax.

Harwich could be a very quiet place on Monday morning.
