But hey, what do I know......

I just took part in an event in Finland, which looked like it had a budget of about 20 quid...and it was brilliant.

Well said Dave!!!!!!

I really wish someone would just say what the new deal is!

Seems to me the cougar hull was bad enough with the honda 225 on the back, let alone proper power! Gorgeous looking boat though!

i think the new deal is that p1 are looking for weights to hold down their race marks and the honda engines are roughly the same weight

Makes so much sense now......

I suggest you all read the thread again, and listen to yourselves- this is the very reason why powerboating will never come together - I didnt realise I was looked down on so much when I turn up to the basic races in my honda boat.....

I'm sure they guys at the basics you went to had nothing but respect for you for making the effort to join with everyone else. From where i'm sitting, it seems to me people's problem is that most honda guys refuse to join in with the rest of the powerboating scene, creating a divide. Don't get me wrong though, some general powerboaters are less than perfect in their approach too.
Far from being looked down on, i'm sure most would look up to you for actually making an effort to use your boat in more than just the honda series. FWIW, i'd rather have a 150 than a 225 any day, i feel they're a much better boat/package.

Hi, sorry. I've borrowed Mr. Rhino's space.
I think men should be banned from BM after a hard day's work. Bring's out a different person! Also smilies work against most messages!
No one looked down on the Hondas at the basics. It was always Rhino's dream to have as many classes run together at events. It has worked and everyone got on and it made a fantastic spectator race. I think the 'jealous' remark just wound everyone up. Most clubs really struggle to put on the best event that they can with no sponsorship whatsoever and rely on the race entry fees. We have been to many events where Honda had wonderful private 'do's' after each race. It has seemed in the past that there was a 'them and us' situation but we made some great friends with several of the crews. They were just part of the Honda circus and that was up to any of us to join that class.
As far as I can see at the moment, no details of anything has come to light yet and I'm a little confused as P1 don't seem to race much in this country at the moment so are we all jumping the gun? We are just a bit disappointed
because we were hoping to all come together next year and support our National Series.
Anyway, if that's the way it's going to go I wish them well and hope they don't eventually have to find out how hard it is, like the rest of us, to run it alone.

Pat, Iam with you on this one all these nasty remarks are not good for the sport, so please stop. Full details will come out soon when they have been finalised with all partys, It will be an exciting partnership and be very good for British powerboat racing, The last thing we want is negative comments and slaging of each other, We will all be in the pits somewhere together in the future so please chill out guys, Dave

joyous occasion?

Guys you are overjoyed at announcing something that hasn't even been agreed yet- that isn't clever.

I quote Steve Curtis and Robert Wicks:

"We are working together to secure an agreement whereby P1 Management would take over the running of the F4SA championship from the end of 2009. With this in mind, P1 are currently undertaking a detailed review of the series and its potential."

I do hope you are not unwise enough to have announced things before the fat lady has sung and the ink is dry. Good though that at last there is Direction from your glorious leader!

You should not simply denounce Four Nations efforts as they are acting on behalf of quite a few teams and have put effort in. Let's see where the ownership will lay in the new series and see what the cost implications are - will that not be the sensible course instead of getting all excited before anything has actually been signed? And remember changing engines will rule out some teams straight away...one could be this year's 225 series champions! They ain't gonna change to merc now are they?

But if one man's money gets some of my boat value back and allows me to sell it as I move on to Xcat (at the urgent request of the Hydrex team) then so be it! Perhaps your offer may now be raised if you are so confident?

Sad to ignore the other classes though in such a manner.

Thanks Dave, shall I take that as official? Are you saying I have been banned from racing in the new P1 opportunity?

Few! For a minute I had visions standing in Warsash with Steve spanking my left buttock and Brian spanking my right whilst I beg them both for forgiveness....screaming out loud "ok! ok! ok! I repent my sins - I will never exercise the right of free speech again!"

My thoughts after reading this thread for a day or so are that it is going to be very exciting to see Honda boats race against ORDA classes III B, IIIC and V24 boats at the weekend!

Not sure I can remember the last time that happened?

Last time I ran a 3B boat against a Honda was Windermere '99 in the enduro.

for some reason c3 and v24 are doing 65nm while honda are doing 39nm so we will be a bit heavy on fuel, but whatever it should be good fun which is what we need
