In theory, yes, but when the hull/deck is 'breached', all the air gets out!

From what i've been told..............

There's a bow locker where they keep all the safety equipment for racing regulations and best be safe than sorry!

Unfortunately again I say... it's not the boat's fault that the drivers dont understand the theory behind a stepped hull and how to drive!

Good example of that was the Irish black V24 - last year at Poole, the day before it raced and didn't do anything and looked crap! next day the guy's allowed M Pascoe - World Famous Rib Manufacturer to drive it in the basic race - boat went fantastic and won!!! So logic is..... If you're got the best racing boat in the world you still need a good driver to win!

whats the locker got to do with it????

and is there many bad drivers in offshore?????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????

plus that race in poole the black boat didnt have any competion to race against, there was two other V24's out racing one retired and the other seemed to be stuck in reverse because the black one lap it twice i think.

had there been some more V24's out there with some of the more compitant crews it might not have been sutch a wight wash

im not an offshore driver but from my limited experience of boats i was very surprised when i saw the v24s last year at pompey at the speed and excessive throttle that was used when exiting corners, most tailfished hopped skiped and slammed from chine to chine just like my motor in the wet, infact almost every lap atleast one driver would have to drop the gas as the limit looked touched and the boats would attempt to hook or dip a wing in the green. but isnt that what racing is about.

i didnt realise the v24s had a reputation for turning over (do they) everybody knows the 225s do but i have to admit that although i didnt see it happen the thought of one of those wings going in the water must have disasterous consequeces??

now how do i get those racing lessons i want some for me birthday!
