Just wondering

This should start some rumours!

Just wondering what boat people would choose to do P1 Supersport in? Have a look at the rules and the current fleet: http://www.powerboatp1.com

Not saying I'm going to do it - just talking about it! (Got to be carefull here don't want to be tarred with the Manos/Codprawn brush here!

Cos if I was going to do it I'd need to get it designed, make plugs and moulds, make and sell 25 of them before I could race it! (In Supersport)

Good idea for a name though!

As per PM, I think supersport doesn't require the 25 hulls, which adds quite a few possibilities.

What about the Techno 40 at drivers, think it's owned currently by andy mcateer? Currently sans engines I believe, but as gordon mcmath suggested, could be ripe for a pair of express marine big blocks?

To hell with P1 & supersport this is what they should run, bet it would take over Cowes & more exposure than anything racing

Wouldn't the Techno be a bit big for Supersport? How much does it weigh? Gordon - just dangle it on your crane and give us a clue?

Yes it had Seateks in it before, there is a power to weight rule with this class - 1hp per 4.5 KG which is 222hp per ton according to my rusty maths!

Oh yeah max 80MPH as well!

Supersport max length = 42ft

Don't know how heavy, but the hp/kg ratio, I think, means you should be able to stay competitive in the flat even in a heavier boat - plus it'd conquer all in the rough.

Don't get me wrong, it might not even be for sale, it's just an idea, which is what ya asked for.

How about a Phantom 28? I'm surprised no one has suggested it yet!

Or, looking at Ben's pictures, what about a Hunton Gazelle?
