Although I did not manage to do the around the island record on the 17th, it did not stop the miserable little tossers from handing in a protest against my attempt.
Aparently ( according to the protest ) I was going to do the attempt as part of a BASIC race, and thus the attempt was void according to the rules in place.
Now the comment from Scotty Boy makes sence! Aparently this 'error' in the setup of the attempt was well known beforehand and the miserable sods sent off the protest just too late to let me be aware of the problem, but just in time for the attempt to be made invalid.
However - for those little asswipes! -
News... The record attempt was a seperate event, paid for as a seperate event, with a different, seperate fee being paid to the RYA. ie the RYA were paid
two sets of fees for the day, one for the basic race, and one for the record attempt. Additionally, there were two sets of time keepers, one for the basic race, and one for the record attempt. And yes, we did have the official RYA timing devices in place, they were brought down from Coniston after Coniston records week finished. And finally - yes, we did have an RYA scrutineer who can scrutineer a canopy boat! And yes, my boat was scrutineered and photographed before the event started, just so little idiots like you who are starting these stories could be shown proof that the boat was legal and checked!
Just because you are not good enough to beat me, does not make me a cheat!
And ( aparently ) I still have a cheating engine, and there is a protest about my World Record at Coniston.
Nice one
