whilst i think you are a corageous person for attempting these new classes, i think (IMO)there is a fatal flaw in all this....

yes you will get a few newcomers, but mostly you will get existing racers, old racers and money people!

i think the continuity of racers taking part race after race will be somewhat sparse.

all that said i wish you and all the participants good luck!!

You mistake my questions as being negative, where as I am infact one of your supporters, I might even be tempted to put up some trophies/prize money!!!!!

You do seem to evade the questions though, such as who these 20 boats are?

On a personal note here nothing bad meant.....

But i feel as though this is not what powerboat racing in general needs, okay brilliant a new class has been approved and i congratulate those who have made huge efforts to get it up and running. I think that a majority of the racing classes need to be brought back together as they have been before, and have a majority of the classes racing together at split times over the race weekends or whatever, all at organised venues throughout the racing season. With more boats, more event sponsorship maybe and possibly better publicity with the larger numbers, then again maybe resulting in more people being attracted to the sport.
Bring it together again not seperate it more with new classes etc.....

Will

Will this is the plan to get C3 and OCR to come and be part of this therefore putting on a true circus that will attract the public and media attention and therefore raise the profile of powerboat racing in the uk.

Hope that answers your question
I still want to know what you're going to do with the residual fuel in the boat after the race to weigh it "without fuel"?

If it weighs enough 'without fuel', it can only weigh more with some residual, why would that matter? you ain't gonna get DQ'd for it.

If you had to carry 'extra' fuel, to have enough residual to make minimum weight, you may as well just weight the boat up correctly in the first place, that way you could put it where you want it.

I think it would need to be dead simple. At the end of a race, the boat can't weigh less than ******* end of.

I'm just thinking of the logistics - it would make sense to weigh a boat after a race to check it was heavy enough.

Also to weigh a boat before the race would mean everyone would have to turn up dry, get weighed, then have to go fill up at the local garage - all a bit of a performance - why not just have the weight as you finish the race with whatever is left in the tanks like every other class (that I know of!)?

The boat must weigh the min weight or more at the end of the race that will be in the rules. if it is to light you will be DQ

I really can't see why this is difficult to grasp.

Minimum weight is 'X' which will be measured (weighed) at the end of the race, the rest is up to you.

As long is it doesn't exceed the stated number, you're ok! how hard is that?

I know it's early days & may not yet be final but would the boats require the full measurement process or would it be much like basic but with the weight thing

The boats will need a self certificate but will not need homologation papers for the hull or engine so from that point you can run what you like as long as it fits in the rules for this class ie min length min weight max power however if the boat is a 508 ie canopy then it must have a full RYA measurement certificate.

so if it is a open cockpit boat then you self certificate but it will be checked at sum point if you are found not to be the min length you will be DQ the power out put will be checked at sum point in the racing year to by dyno if you are found to to have more power than the class rules you will be DQ
