Thanks for the info....
So is that 20kg + 635 kg (mono) 3B EPA (1600cc-90hp) in the 2007 UIM rules?
Will 3B, 3B EPA and 3B EPA + 20 race against each other or is the class being fragmented? I am confused....
I am still looking for a boat...would ideally like to build one but don’t know if I will have enough time this winter…

i'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong,
the last i saw the moulds were sat in drivers, but that was probably over a year ago!

I belive it was Peter Little and Dave Arthur involved in the backdraft which had the 10 changes made to it so that it did not qualify as a splash but a variation on the design and this makes it legit.

The "10 changes" fairytale is bull, you steal something and get caught, you have to pay. Which is what the builders of the Backdraft did, pay a royalty on each boat produced to Ocke.

The moulds are sitting at Drivers looking very sorry for themselves, they belong to Mark Pascoe, as he took them in part payment for one of my 26's that we built for the original Backdraft builder. Mark used the bottom for his 7 metre Fiasco.

Is there still a 2 year notice period on class / capacity rule changes (Excluding safety) or was that thrown out in the last few years. excluding the intro of new classes which this would fall under

So this is the story.
When I asked earlier matt said this was 'rumour' - well it appears to be fact.

I remember having to put a ''Built under licence from Ocke Mannerfelt Design'' sticker on my bakdraft in cowes one year. Was asked very nicely by Pete to put it in a prominate position. Then Ocke turned up!!! Think it was 98

What do you mean tried? We had full on tongue sex.

The backdraft hull is quite asymetrical. Is the B22 similarly so?

It is not ORDA that is promicing free membership, it is a promice of a free licence from the RYA and thus far only from class 3c competitors. This can be obtained no matter which affiliated club you belong to.

The RYA is still doing the calculations to determine if it is possible to offer free licences to everyone who is new in 2008, But I suspect this will only be for selected classes or categorys. We will have to wait and see what the actual offer from the RYA is. At the meeting last week Puddifoot did not state what the result would be, just that they are seriously considering it and would determine what they could offer in the next few weeks...
