Out of interest what length do you think is the optimum length for offshore marathon racing ?

why dont you tell us all what you have in mind, what kind of options you have in the pipeline, preferences on petrol/diesel/outboard and perhaps all the bright folk on this forum could narrow things down.

If your primary goal is to beat Swipewipes then anything with pontoons should do the trick

My guess would be anything fast that is close to the max length with reliable "off the shelf" diesels. And a set of big hairy b***s.

It all depends on the class you intend to enter and the money you want to waste er spend

The longer the better but then you need lots of Horses to get good speed as the boat will weigh more.
