If you send me an email address I can send you pics of the stages.

dude don't worry about the motor mounting. centre is perfect just put all the heavy stuff on the drivers side, it will be fine.
only thing that may be a problem is the 25" leg as this may incourage chine walking. I believe the P21's were designed for a 20" hung straight on the transom but just run it and see what you think because you can alway change the leg later.

Hi Burty, thanks for making me feel a lot better about this, after all the work. When she's on the water properly I'll let you know how she behaves.
Thanks

Hi All,
Has anyone found out any more info on this boat, or a contact for John Lonsdale.
Also can anyone suggest an insurance company, that will cover this type of boat. I keep getting the reply "it's too fast for us"
Had one quote, that includes ski racing, for £795. I don't need ski racing but the rest of the policy sounds ok.

When you say 'allgrip was difficult' in what respect was that. I agree, the finish looks pretty good. How do you rate allgrip for touhgness and scratch resistance

Hi Marsham, Preparation is very important, as any paint jib but I feel that you must use the Allgrip products throughout the whole job. Depending on the existing finish, there will be the fillers, the high build and base primers and the final coats. I feel that the boat must be inside or tented, with good extraction, as overspray can be a problem.
The end result is good, as you can see. I've nearly completed the interior re fit (since painting) and the paint has withstood quite a lot. In general use, I would think it would stand up to a lot. I believe that it must be done right but it's worth it.
Cheers Peter

Cool that you did already a test run. If the motor is not on her place right know you should feel it already. Also with during the little test you made. If it would be too much to the left you would feel the boat hangs on the left side whe will not go flat out. But stick deeper in the wather at the passangers site. You feel this good after she planes. But i think it's no problem with yours. Due the length of the boat. I knoew a guy and he has mounted his boat 2cm out of the centre and the hole boat layed maybe 10cm deeper at passangers side. If you place the motor out center never put it to the left but to the right if right turning prop! Make a few pictures for us when she's in the wather again!

Hi all, Just an update. I got the following information fro the previous owner today. He says "all the boats that were for sale at the yard when I bought the Phantom were bought at auction from the Royal Navy. They were confiscated by the Navy for smuggling around the Gibraltar area and ended up in Blanford Army camp in Dorset. They were bought by an Army soldier before being bought by the Royal Marine in Hamworthy, Poole."
Interesting huh.

Same kinda story as the P21 I'm gettin, was caught running in Gibralter and sold at an auction over here, along with a blue Ring 21.
Would like to find out about these auctions..... sounds a good way to get lightweight cheap boats!

Now for the dumb bit
Can anyone advise, as to the use of a bow tank. Patriot is fitted with one and I re fitted it. There are no pipes, pickups, pumps , outlets, inlets or aything for it. Would I benefit from using it and if so, what should I buy, to opporate it. It has two small fittings on the top of it and one large one at the bottom.
Cheers.
Peter
