A Close Run Thing

Thank you sir for the course correction (Swipewipes 5).You were the closest today, beating Mr.Caulcutt even for disappearing under the cliff face.I cut the wild flowers growing on the cliff edge out pic!
A good day all in all with close runs down and back.

Whilst concentrating on snapping,a passer by who was doing a cliff walk with his girlfriend snapped the rib `Barney` taking some serious air and promptly chucking a crew member overboard .He showed me what he had taken,so with a bit of luck he will `e` mail the drama to me on Sunday evening, when he returns home to Reading.

Some lovely shots!

Looks like most of us played ball for you this time Graham, nice & close, shame about the flat conditions....again, not really conducive to dramatic action shots.

That would be cool!

Poor fella ended up with a bruised arm and black eye.

I've always said those blow up ejector-bote things are dangerous....should be banned.

It was bound to happen some time or other although that's no consolation to Bob now. There's no side protection in them there things. Only exception of course is Buzzi Bullett. Give me strong boulsters and a deep cockpit anytime.

It was a great day, one to remember and a good one for me to go out on. So many thanks to everyone need to be said but I will do that at a later time. A HUGE thanks to the guys who raced because without them spending their hard earned dosh in this day and age we wouldn't have any racing. 14 starters in total, not bad for a cold day in mid October.

The sight of the whole fleet running down Southampton Water behind us in Max Beaverbrooks Start Boat at 40knts is something I will never forget.

If I can convince John Moore and the BPRC to put another on like that in early June I will.

Well done Mike, great to get out in October and photograph a race, the sound of Bounty Hunter passing our 4mtr rib about 15ft away was worth the entry fee alone.
My son had his video camera with him so he's hoping to put some of it on You Tube.

Barny the M.O.B.

Took a bit of blowing up and reducing from a 5mb pic where the boat filled up 10% of the frame, and needed sharpening.Stiil the guy did send it through.

Mystery wake

It could well have been `Fugitive`,but can`t be dead sure.I never even saw Barny as I was dialled in on other boat, and taking boat numbers and times screws you up for snapping when ther`e still bunched up.It wasn`t till after the boats had gone through and were rounding St.Albans on the way back that the fella who took the pics came up and said, did you see the guy that went overboard.I reckon he was much further along the cliff near Durleston when it happened.
BTW `Bounty Hunter` seemed to take an age to get going again when it stopped dead in the water between St.Albans and Anvil Pt.After several attempts at getting on the plane,it finally got going and was not really running right when it passed, porpoising a bit and coming off a bit of swell. So I got lucky for once.

Seems like the 2 front runners had a good tussle from the great pic's you guys have taken and Bandit like Barry said appears to have upped it's game breathing heavily on the exhausts of team 25 or did they have issues

hope you guys will post from the teams perspective as per the CTC as it makes such great reading

Pre-race

Here's a few early morning shots...

I'm impressed by the guy in the background of second picture...

obviously, he could go to his next fancy-dress party as a petrol pump....
